About

Al is a director & writer working across theatre and film. He’s worked on modern adaptations of classics, musicals, plays, new writing and family theatre; on small, mid-scale and large-scale shows across the UK with teams of 5 and 50 alike. In 2022, he became Resident Director of Oxford Playhouse, where he is now Artist Development Associate.

He first became interested in theatre at the age of nine in a school production of The Snowman, where his role was to wave a ribbon whilst dancing around the school gym. That love never wavered and Al went on to train as an actor at Mountview, before turning to directing. He’s worked with a variety of organisations across the UK, such as Battersea Arts Centre, Unicorn Theatre, NYT, Iris Theatre, Mountview, Oxford Playhouse and Veritas Productions.
